Students in the Honors Chemistry class have been studying chemical reactions – types of reactions, writing equations for them, and working mathematical relationships among reactants and products.  To illustrate how a reaction may be limited by a lesser quantity of one reactant, the students received the “reactants” in  “s’mores” to make the point.  Some students had a baggie with only one graham cracker, some had only half a piece of chocolate.  They then had to decide  the quantity of s’more they would be able to form.  And of course…. We had to roast the marshmallows over the Bunsen burner and consume the examples of “limiting reactant.”
